The effect of Hypnotherapy-based interventions on improving women’s experience of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum: A narrative review

Introduction Hypnotherapy has been increasingly used in recent years healthcare, with several applications during pregnancy, labor, birth and the postpartum. Objectives This review was performed to assess effects of before, after pregnancy. Methods A narrative methodology using keywords determined by Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) thesaurus adopted this study. For purpose, databases PubMed, Scopus,Web Science, GoogleScholar, Scientific Information Database (SID) were searched “Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy, Pregnancy, Labor, Childbirth ” from March11 April 5, 2022; finally, related articles published 2000 2022 retrieved. Results According findings, ofHypnotherapy on pregnancy delivery postpartumoutcomes classified into categories as following: Hypnotherapy-based interventions improve childbirth experience, less anxiety, increased satisfaction, fewer interventions, more postnatal well-being better experience overall. may reduce overall use analgesia labour, but not epidural use.Hypnotherapy intervention aided reducing physical psychological symptoms Conclusions With reference literature subject matter, women can safely pursue hypnotherapy be presented a technique enabling patients have positive experience; however, high quality trials are needed demonstrate its complete efficacy.
